Check it out at: http://www.tonimorrisonsociety.org/ and give me your thoughts on what is there...

I am game...but there is a lot of work involved;

The only work so far translated/published in Macedonian, by Morrison, is Beloved; it was published short after she won the Nobel...

Anyhow, Prof. Graham, the society's president, was my mentor at KU; so if we do some good work, she will be willing to read it...

I've got nothing against Toni Morrison or her writing but I'll say one thing, societies of this kind give me the creeps(MENSA, that sort of thing), I don't know why, but they do. In shorthand, I imagine the bunch on the inside must be a fancy one, but...thanks but no thanks.

I was wondering, is there anyone who hasn't heard of Toni Morrison and doesn't respect her work??? I mean, she is everywhere.

I may become a member of this society sometime in the future. I should read her other novels first. :)

If I am fortunate enough to ever go to Princeton, I'll pray to be fortunate enough to happen to take a course she is teaching. That sounds nice.

Question:

Why did she choose Princeton? The graduate school is not that special. The undergraduate school is what makes Princeton so amazing.

But, all these famous people usually don't want to waste their time working with undergrads. Is Toni different? Or...?

I didn't think that she is that famous. It seems as if she has made and will continue to make large impacts on popular culture. She has the power to get people hear her ideas, this evident thrugh the fact that she writes and publishes important works.

I would like to read her novel JAZZ

"One of the themes of the novel is the cathartic ability of Jazz music." (WIKI)
I could relate to that:)
